Affiliate Disclosure

Innovabase makes money from paid links. This page explains exactly how, what the arrangement covers, and where its influence begins and ends. Everything on it is stated plainly because a disclosure that needs interpreting is not a disclosure.

The arrangement, in full

Navigorex Group s.r.o., the company that publishes this site, participates in an affiliate programme for Star Stable Online through an advertising network that administers that programme on the vendor's behalf.

When a reader follows one of our links to Star Stable Online and goes on to create and activate an account, the network records that sign-up and pays Navigorex Group s.r.o. a commission for it. The amount varies by country and by device type and is set by the network, not by us.

The reader pays nothing for this. No cost is added, no price is increased, and the terms you meet on the vendor's side are the same terms anyone meets, whether they arrived through this site, through a search engine, or by typing the address themselves. The commission is paid by the advertising network out of its own arrangement with the vendor.

Which links are paid

Every link on this site pointing to Star Stable Online is a paid affiliate link. They are marked in three ways at once: the link itself carries the sponsored attribute that tells search engines it is paid; a line of ordinary text sits immediately beside each one saying so; and this page exists.

Links to anything else on this site are not paid and never have been. That includes every link to an Australian government body — the ACCC, Scamwatch, the Australian Cyber Security Centre, the eSafety Commissioner, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner and the Australian Classification Board. Those are linked because they are the right place to send a reader, and no money passes in either direction.

Our links go straight to the destination. There is no redirect on this domain, no link shortener, no interstitial page and no script that changes where a link points after you have looked at it. The address you see in your browser's status bar when you hover is the address you will arrive at.

What the commission influences

It decides which product is named. Star Stable Online appears on this site by name because it is the product the publisher has a commercial relationship with. Other games are not named, not because they were assessed and found wanting, but because they were never assessed at all. Any site that earns from one product while implying it surveyed the field is misrepresenting itself, and we would rather say the narrow, accurate thing.

It also pays for the site. Writing, reviewing and hosting cost money, and this is where that money comes from. There is no other revenue: no display advertising, no sponsored posts, no paid placements, no data sold to anybody, and no subscriptions.

What it does not influence

• The troubleshooting content. Causes are listed in the order they are worth testing, based on how often each turns out to be the answer. A commercial relationship has never changed that order and there is no mechanism by which it could — no advertiser reviews these pages before publication.
• What we say about the product. Statements about Star Stable Online on this site come from the description supplied by the advertising network. Where that description does not cover something, the page says so rather than filling the space. You will not find performance claims, quality claims, ratings or superlatives here about that game or any other.
• Where we send you for help. Regulators, reporting routes and consumer guidance are chosen because they are correct, and several of the pages here point readers away from spending money rather than towards it.
• Whether a page mentions the product at all. Four of the seven troubleshooting pages carry a paid link, and they are the four where the game is a natural example of what is being discussed. Adding one to the rest would earn more and would be padding.

What does determine the coverage

Since commission does not set the order or content, something else has to. The subject of a page is chosen by whether a reader in Australia could plausibly type it into a search box while a game is failing in front of them — a symptom rather than a product. The order of causes within a page is set by frequency: what most often turns out to be responsible goes first, so that the cheapest tests are done first.

The stopping point is set by honesty. Each page ends where the problem stops being the reader's to fix and becomes the vendor's, the bank's, or a regulator's, because knowing that boundary saves more time than any additional instruction would. Rules we hold ourselves to

1. Disclosure is adjacent, not buried. A note sits immediately beside every paid link, in the same size text as everything around it, and one sits in the upper part of the home page. Nothing about the funding of this site is in small print or behind a control you have to open.
2. No claim we cannot attribute. Product statements come from the material supplied to us. Statements about rules, rights or regulators carry a link to the body responsible.
3. Nothing invented. There are no testimonials on this site, no reviews, no star ratings, no test results, no benchmark figures, no awards and no certification marks — not because they would be ineffective, but because we have not earned any of them.
4. No pressure. No countdowns, no stock counters, no warnings that something must be done now. Readers arrive here with a problem; manufacturing a second one would be contemptible.
5. No false authority. This site is not the vendor, not a partner, not an authorised reseller and not an official channel, and it never describes itself as any of those.

Australian consumer law

Under the Australian Consumer Law, misleading or deceptive conduct in trade or commerce is prohibited, and the obligation falls on the publisher of a statement as well as on the business whose product is being described. That is the standard this site is written to: every claim here is one Navigorex Group s.r.o. is prepared to defend. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission publishes guidance on advertising and selling, including how commercial relationships should be disclosed.
